It is with bittersweet resolution that we announce the closing of Sandhills Farm to Table Co-op.
Through our years of operation, we have delivered hundreds of thousands of produce boxes with the dedicated help of countless amazing volunteers; many locally owned small businesses, workplaces, local schools and churches that have acted as gathering sites for box pick-up days; employees past and present who offered various skills and willingness to support local agriculture; farmers who grew from backyard growers to local staples in the community, as well as those who are multi-generational farmers that helped start the co-op with our founders in 2009. This endeavor wouldn't have been made possible without all of the support from our incredible community and, most of all, without the subscribers who believed in the mission and came back year after year to support us.
After 15 years of serving Moore County and the neighboring communities, Sandhills Farm to Table Co-op will be closing our doors. Subscriber numbers have fluctuated significantly in recent years, particularly after the COVID-19 pandemic, with 2024 being one of the lowest and most inconsistent years in all of our operating seasons. With a decrease in consumer retention and an increase in farmers utilizing other markets, we have found it not feasible to continue.
It has been an honor and a pleasure to serve the community over the past 15 years! We are forever grateful for the support, and we truly hope you will continue to support local agriculture in any way you can. We encourage you to see the list below for contact information from some of our farmers, where you can find them, and other local markets you may be interested in!
Here's to the fruits and veggies of our farmers' labor!
With heartfelt gratitude, your Friends and Farmers of SF2T 💚
